A unique tradition started in 1909 when an ornamental iron was placed atop a weathervane of Pimlico Race Course clubhouse in Baltimore, Maryland and painted the silk colors of the Preakness Stakes winner. The tradition continues to this day. This bird’s eye view has provided the weather vane with a front row seat for some of the most legendary horses of the century and the perhaps even more legendary infield revelry below.
