Ironhorse Racing Stable
Ironhorse Racing Stable has been campaigning thoroughbreds throughout the country and world since 2007 racing in multiple Breeders' Cups and as far away as Royal Ascot. Established by two Columbia University grads, the light blue colors of the stable are those worn by the Lions. Paying further homage to their alma mater, having played baseball and crew at Columbia, the partners named their stable after Columbia's greatest athlete the "Iron Horse" Lou Gehrig. It is only fitting that the stable's star runner, Bucchero, would eventually be dubbed in Bloodhorse as an "Iron Horse" in winning the Gr 2. Woodford Stakes at Keeneland at the end of his 6yo year.
